Rohan Shah is currently the Senior Counsel at the Bombay High Court. He is a qualified Solicitor and is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales. He is well known for his expertise in advisory, policy and controversy issues related to indirect taxes (excise, service tax, VAT and customs), domestic and international taxation in India. He is also actively engaged in various advisory and transactional issues in the areas of corporate and commercial transactions, media and international trade laws. Rohan has been extensively engaged by several Fortune 500 companies in relation to customs valuation issues; SVB issues, investigation proceedings by the DRI; export control issues; foreign trade policy issues; and antidumping, subsidy and countervailing duty issues, from both an advisory and litigation perspective. He has been appointed in various expert committees formed by the Indian Ministry of Finance and the Indian Ministry of Commerce on issues related to the introduction of presumptive taxation for the gems and jewellery sector.
